Safe Haven Rec: Expanding to ensure access
Safe Haven Recovery Engagement Center Expands with Second Location to ensure access!
Safe Haven REC is one of Indiana's Regional Recovery Hubs and starting in January 2025, our region was expanded to include 13 counties, now covering Vanderburgh, Gibson, Spencer, Warrick, and Posey counties in the southwest region. With our physical location being in Orange County, we recognized the challenge it was going to pose to have coaches working out of Orange County and needing to travel to these more southwest counties. This is why we collaborated with NOW Counseling to secure an office location in Evansville! Our satellite location will allow us to hire coaches out of the Evansville area to serve our most southwest counties, ensuring timely access to recovery coaching, support, transportation, networking, collaboration, and harm reduction supplies. Safe Haven's Evansville location is located at 1010 S Weinbach Ave Evansville, IN 47714.

Safe Haven REC, a 501c3 non-profit organization is now recognized as a Certified Recovery Community
Safe Haven as of May 20th, 2025 has received their recertification as a Certified Recovery Community Organization!
Safe Haven REC has been providing services since 2019. Since then, we have grown to make sure we can provide services to as many people as possible. Since 2023 Safe Haven has been recognized as a Certified Recovery Community Organization in the state of Indiana through the IRN and DMHA. This brings another level of credibility to our organization showing we are committed to providing quality services to those who need it the most, always free of charge.

Safe Haven REC, in collaboration with NOW Counseling, now offers Intensive Outpatient Services
Safe Haven REC is here to serve the community and we believe that every community should have access to as many resources as possible to support recovery. That's why we collaborated with NOW Counseling to offer IOP services at our physical location in Paoli, IN.
IOP services are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 5-8PM. Our transportation team is available for transport to IOP for all thirteen of the counties we serve.

excited to announce installation of naloxbox!
NaloxBox
In March 2021, Governor Holcomb announced a partnership between Indiana state and Overdose Lifeline to place 2 NaloxBoxes in each county of the state. These Naloxboxes would offer 24/7 discreet access to the life saving drug, Naloxone. Naloxone is used to reverse opioid overdoses. We are pleased to announce Safe Haven has a NaloxBox located at our office at 308 S Oak St. Paoli, IN 47454. This box is checked daily and stocked with at least 12 doses of Naloxone at all times.

Passthrough for Naloxone
Safe Haven also serves as a pass through organization for Narcan distribution and can offer organizations Narcan and Narcan training if they need it. We have been proud to be able to get Narcan into the hands of probation officers, sober living homes, and inpatient treatment centers.

How You Can Help
Change is difficult for anybody, but is made easier with community support. Safe Haven is meant to be a low barrier, community-ran center. It succeeds as much as the community supports it. So here is where we need your help! We need funds to help keep our doors open. Grant funding pays for programming, employees, and supplies but rarely covers overhead or basic operating expenses.
